From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 8/20/2016 at approximately 1200 EST, Cessna CE-150 N8568G, registered to pressley aviaiton, was damaged when the right wingtip struck a chain link fence post. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the right rear spar forward of the flap which caused wrinkling of the aircraft skin. The student pilot was the sole occupant and was uninjured. During reposition in the non-movement area , the student pilot could not get the radios to work and decided to return to a parking spot. The spot selected was next to a fence line and required a sharp turn to have the aircraft point in the opposite direction. The student pilot taxied too close to the fence line and struck the wingtip during the turn.

Per NTSB - since no intent to fly, no accident number assigned
