From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed runway 22 at st Simons Mckinnon airport and had a standard rate of climb at 90KTS and climbed to approximately 150 and the engine stopped. Propeller continued to windmill and clear liquid continually spraying from the upper cowling onto the windshield. The pilot assumed it to be fuel. The pilot immediately attempted to land back on RUNWAYY22 and added full flaps. The pilot got the aircraft back on runway 22 and immediately applied brakes heavily. The aircraft was approaching the end of the runway and the pilot saw cars and pedestrian traffic ahead so applied left brake to avoid the traffic. Consistent braking and skidding continued until the aircraft hit the perimeter fence in the south west corner and the aircraft came to rest in the ditch. The aircraft sustained substantial structural damage and there were no injuries to the pilot.
