From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot performed a pre-flight inspection, ground run up and took off of runway 1 to the north. As the pilot rotated at 55-60 mph the airplane stopped climbing at approximately 100 feet. The pilot lowered the nose of the aircraft to maintain airspeed then checked the boost pump, throttle, carb heat, fuel selector and the RPM continued to decrease until approximately 2100 RPM. The aircraft continued descending in altitude while the pilot decided to turn left heading west to find a forced landing area. The pilot chose a soybean field after clearing a tree line and wires, applied full flaps and landed the aircraft with no damage.
