From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Student pilot and CFI were returning from a cross country flight on 10/10/16. During taxi operations it was noted that the taxiway lighting was not working. The landing light worked during aircraft operation in durant, OK., but was not operating when they arrived in gvl. During the taxi operation they inadvertantly impacted airport signage. Work lights at a hangar further impaired their night vision. There were no injuries, and the damage to the aircraft was a dented intake cowling, and a prop strike.
