From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot states he departed T82 airport VFR direct to kdwh airport at noon on 1-10-2017. Cleared to land rwy 17R at dwh. Landing was normal wheel landing with right crosswind component. Decelerated and let the tail down. On roll out was correcting for wind gusts with combination right aileron and rudder pedals/brakes. Plane started to turn right. Corrected with stronger braking action and the right brake pedal became very soft and went further toward firewall. At this point the plane went off the runway and main wheels dug into mud causing the prop to pitch forward into the mud. The aircraft appears to have damaged wheel pants and a prop strike.
