From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At about 2 2/1 hours into a flight from iad to fcm, the pilots noted that the aircraft had developed a minor buffet while descending from FL280 to 16,000 ft. engine parameters were reported as normal and flight characteristics of aircraft were normal. Approximately 10 minutes later, a loud bang was heard and the buffet stopped. Pilot reported that with the use of a flashlight, it was determined that the left wing locker assembly had departed the aircraft. After discussion with the passengers, it was decided to continue on to intended destination, since flight characteristics of the aircraft appeared to be unaffected.

As the FAA filed it
