From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot in command of C172RG (N6392V) stated he was taxing on the centerline marking (second taxiway alley from the south) in the west tie down area after completing an instructional part 141 flight (CFI on board) and struck a parked and secured Cessna 172S aircraft (N540CF). It could not be verified if the pilot in command was in fact taxing on the centerline marking due to a lack of sufficient video surveillence. The leading edge of the left wing of N6392V came in contact with the propeller of N540CF (N540CF engine was not operating and the aircraft was tied down, unoccupied).

As the FAA filed it
