From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Feb. 14, 2017 at 1826 UTC, on takeoff from rwy 22 at Bolton Field (tzr), N88EB experienced a loss of power on the left engine after rotation. According to pilot interviews and statements, with the landing gear still in the down and locked position and the airspeed dropped below "blue line" on the airspeed indicator, the decision was made to land on the remaining runway. The aircraft made a hard landing, collapsing the left main gear and damaging the left propeller. The aircraft came to rest along the centerline of the rwy pointing with a slight angle to the right (<30 degrees). During final interview, PIC admitted that there were a few seconds hesitation before recognizing the situation.

Oem engine rep examined left engine on 3/15/2017, no anomalies noted.

Subsequent to accident event, PIC sought out additional training on his own pertaining to engine power loss scenarios. Pilot also volunteered to serve as a speaker for local FAA safety team forum regarding engine loss on multi-engine aircraft on takeoff.
