From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Kmsy ATCT reported: after reaching 14.000 ft. the pilot informed msy that he needed to return to new due to an avionics issue. But said he did not need assistance. Approximately 7NM west of new the pilot said he needed the CFR trucks. 4 POB. The pilot got new in sight and was cleared for the visual approach. After landing on rwy L8 r, the pilot informed msy that all occupants were ok and the aircraft was disabled on the runway with several blown tires. Attempts to contact new CFR were unsuccessful (answering machine). Msy called the New Orleans fire department and they responded to new approximately 10 minutes after the aircraft landed. New airport manager issued a NOTAM indicating the runway closed. Acn.

Aircrew reported: the aircraft was started with a ground power unit. Preflight checks and checklists were completed as required. After passing through 11,000 ft., the crew noted the loss of FMS1 and FMS 2. This was followed by a cascading loss of navigation data, primary flight displays, cockpit lighting, communications, pitch trim and hydraulics. The pilot in command stated that pitch trim had failed at a speed of 275 knots with heavy controls at slower airspeeds. The crew used the emergency gear extension in order to get proper gear down/locked indications. The aircraft touched down without flap extension, speed brakes, thrust reversers or anti-skid braking. The crew used emergency braking application to stop the aircraft. After the aircraft stopped, the copilot assisted the 2 passengers on evacuating the aircraft while the pilot secured the aircraft. Upon exit, the pilot noticed the left main landing gear hub was on fire and used an onboard portable fire bottle to extinguish the fire. The aircraft sustained damage from tire blowout during the emergency landing.

ACN.
