From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was landing at his home airport after a pleasure flight. He touched down on the nose gear first causing a porpoising action. He elected to go around. He then had no green light on the nose gear. It was verified by ground observers that he had no nose gear down. He elected to go to a different airport, Cincinnati Lunken, to land to take advantage of emergency equipment. The landing was successful. There was no nose landing gear on the airplane. It was found at the airport where he initially touched down.
