What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Instructor and student were performing various commercial maneuvers. They had just completed a simulated engine failure, student added full power. Instructor noticed oil pressure drop to zero and low oil pressure annunciator. Flight crew immediately attempted to return to hio but engine siezed 5 miles north west of hio pilot located and successfully performed an emergency landing at a grass airstrip 4S4, without further damage. Upon examination it was discovered the oil sump plug was missing and oil was all over bottom of aircraft. Upper cowling removed and engine case was severely fractured but very little sign of oil on top of engine. Appears engine case failed after loss of oil and cylinders siezed.
