From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Student pilot conducting second solo flight conducted three previous landings, one touch and go, and two stop and go procedures. On the takeoff roll following the second stop and go, the aircraft drifted to the left. The student pilot applied full right rudder but was unable to get the aircraft to turn to the right and back to the runway centerline. The aircraft departed the runway and struck a runway/taxiway sign causing substantial damage to the aircraft. The student pilot failed to maintain directional control during takeoff roll.
