From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1030 hrs in VFR clear conditions on 23 June 17 the jet blue Embraer 190 N187JB with 102 souls on board (sob) flying at 36,000 ft from hpn (westchester county airport, NY) enroute to fll (fort lauderdale, FL) diverted to chs (Charleston international airport, SC) due to smoke and warm conditions in the cabin. The crew couldn?t get the cabin temperature to decrease so they climbed to 38,000 ft and called chs to prepare for an emergency landing.
