From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 0900 hrs. On 7/17/17 privacy data omitted (instructor) and privacy data omitted (student pilot) were attempting to takeoff from fxe runway 9. Pilot 2 stated ?shortly after rotation while still above the runway, an alarming vibration was felt coming from the engine at that point pilot 1 immediately took over the flight controls and landed on remaining runway. The aircraft overran the end of runway and struck an end of runway light with the right main gear before coming to a stop in the overrun area.? The aircraft was checked for damage and then returned to the maintenance hangar under its own power.
