From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A witnessed stated that the pilot made two passes over the field. On the second pass heading south, the aircraft was straight and level, pulled up over a line of trees and did a right turn. The aircraft continued in a right turn without gaining additional altitude and appeared to go inverted. Investigation found parts of the right wing at the tree line indicating the right wing struck the tree tops causing the aircraft to go into a right turn. At the impact site the aircraft was right side up and pointed north.
