From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was flying with a friend to perform touch and go's at kafj and khlg airports. While enroute to kafj, the pilot let his friend control the aircraft during level flight. On descent to kafj, the pilot took over the aircraft/flight. The pilot admitted he rushed through his landing checklist and just glanced at the gear indication, which was red. The pilot further stated he was out of his routine and the red gear indication did not register in the pilot's mind. The pilot realized once the aircraft was close to the ground that the gear was not touching the ground. The pilot made a gear up landing on runway 27 at kafj airport.
