From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The student pilot departed on a night flight with two passengers. The rear seated passenger was the only person having a recolecton of the accident. She stated that the pilot briefed the two passengers that he was preparing to land and put in flaps. She could see the flaps being deployed out the window. Afterwards, the pilot stated that he would need to do a 360 turn before landing. The passenger then said she saw a red blinking light, power lines, and tops of trees. The pilot stated that they needed to go up. As she saw the flaps move again, the pilot stated, "guys this is not good". The aircraft impacted the ground a half mile from the approach end of runway 25 at Sky Manor Airport (N40). The aircraft traveled forty yards and came to rest after contacting a split rail fence.
