From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot reported the aircraft took off and encountered the #2 engine unresponsive to power lever input and experienced torque fluctuations. This lead to the crew shutting down the #2 engine and declared emergency. Fire crews were standing by on the runway. The crew opted to lower the gear utilizing the alternate gear extension method and landed without further incident. The aircraft was towed to the gate. Carrier maintenance retreived FDR data and supplied data to the oem for interpretation. The oem and carrier maintenance determined the mechanical fuel control unit(mfc)/fuel pump was the source of the problem encountered and replaced the defective mfc and fuel pump assy. The aircraft underwent a successful operational check flight and was subsequently returned to service on 8/16/17.

As the FAA filed it
