From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot failed to extend landing gear prior to landing. The aircraft touched down 1494 feet on runway 24, and skid on airframe for 971 feet. An airport police officer witnessed the event. Pilot was not injured. He was able to extract himself from aircraft without assistance.

Aircraft came to rest intact and upright, with all landing gear retracted, at a heading of 220 on abe runway 24 between taxiways A3 and e.

The fuel selector was reported to be in the left tank position by the first responders who selected it to the off position and turned off the magneto switch. Throttle control was found at idle, mixture control at full rich, and propeller control at full increase. Flight controls were continuous and correct. The flaps were found in the landing position and the gear handle was in the up position. Damage to propeller blades is consistent with runway contact at idle power. Both flaps are damages at inboard areas from contact with runway, no primary flight controls are damaged, wings are not damaged, fuselage damage is limited to belly skins, antennas, and non-structural elements. Examination did not disclose any pre-crash conditions precluding normal landing gear function. Damage assessment per 49CFR830.2 and FAA order 8900.1 volume 7 chapter 1 section 1 is ?incident?.

As the FAA filed it
