From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The accident occurred at a private airport in Darlington, SC airport known as hicks field.

The pilot made a low pass over the 700 foot runway to evaluate the field condition. Once the pilot determined that a landing would be safe he made a go around to stay in the pattern for a landing. On the climb the engine quit and the pilot intentionally made a stall to cushion the aircraft in the top of the pine trees, however the aircraft nosed over between the trees and came to rest inverted.
