From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft had completed an annual inspection the day prior to flight.

The pilot performed a pre-flight inspection and departed ankeny (ikv), IA airport to Chariton (cnc), IA airport.

On final approach the pilot tried to lower the landing gear normally and did not see a positive gear down indication light in the cockpit. The pilot tried to cycle the landing gear handle to no effect. The pilot then used the emergency landing gear pump handle in an attempt to lower the landing gear. The pilot did not receive a positive gear down indication light after using the emergency pump.

After touchdown the pilot performed a long roll out on the runway. After rolling for approximately 800 to 1000 feet the pilot applied brakes to continue to slow the aircraft. Once the brakes were applied the main landing gear retracted.

The aircraft sustained damage to the lower fuselage, the left horizontal stabilizer and the left elevator control.
