From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Upon arrival the aircraft was laying on its right side on taxiway alpha. After further investigation it appears as if the pilot took off from runway 1 and made it a quarter length down the runway before he made a left turn and tried to land on taxiway alpha. The aircraft never made it onto the taxiway and was attempting to land with a tailwind. The pilot lost control of the aircraft and came down into the sod area between alpha and runway 1 and bounced twice leading with the front landing wheel. The aircraft then struck a taxiway light before pivoting on the rear right landing wheel causing the aircraft to flip on its side. The rotors from the aircraft struck the edge of the taxiway then came to a sudden stop.

As the FAA filed it
