From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The airman stated that he was doing practice takeoff and landings. The airman remembers doing one take off and landing. The next thing the airman remembers is waking up hanging vertical in the cockpit by the safety harnesses. The airman does not remember what happened or if the accident happened on takeoff or landing. Two non-pilot witnesses at the scene stated that they saw the accident aircraft's wing rise and the airplane "cartwheeling" to the left side of the runway. The aircraft came to rest about 350FT from the center of the runway. The top left wing tip showed ground impact. The prop and spinner made impact with the ground almost vertical and slid 7 feet till the aircraft came to rest vertically against a tree. No other damage was noticeable and all control surfaces worked normally.
