From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft was on right base, turning final, for runway 36, which is located on the big star cattle ranch. It is a 2400 foot, asphalt, private, unregistered, road strip approximately 11.35 miles nne of Caldwell, Texas / 8 miles ssw of Corpora Airport (1TE5). During the interview the PIC described that it appeared he was overshooting the runway and increased his "right base" bank of turn. This seemed to cause a side slipping while losing altitude. He applied power but his right wing caught a tree which spun the vehicle into the ground and surrounding brush areas.

As the FAA filed it
