From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On December 9, 2017, a private appropriately rated pilot departed chickasha, OK to conduct short field operations at a private sod landing strip near Pocasset, OK. The flight was conducted under 14 CFR part 91 as a pleasure flight. The pilot was making his approach to the north for landing when the right main landing gear contacted the lip of the landing threshold, thus shearing the right main gear from the spar attachment fitting under the right wing. The aircraft received substaial damage as a result, and there were no injuries to the pilot. Visual flight rules weather conditions prevailed at the time of the accident.
