From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A part 61 training flight was conducted from trenton mercer airport (kttn) to Falwell Airport (W24) the pilot in command stated that upon landing touchdown on RUNWAY28, he lost control of the aircraft. The aircraft subsequenlty pulled to the left where it came to rest approximately 350 feet from the touchdown point in the grass on the left side of runway. Additionally, PIC noted witnessing the left main landing gear tire roll past the aircraft into the grass on the edge of the airfield. On scene inspection revealed l/h main landing gear axle sheared/failed at weld where it attaches to landing gear strut assembly. The nose gear collapsed and wrinkling of the fusalage skins above l/h main landing gear occured.
