From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

^Mr. Goss^, a student pilot conducting a solo flight, stated the weather was very good with winds out of the south at 4-5 knots while performing touch and go's on runway 7 at kgkj. He was using the papi's and had a normal approach, on approach speed, glide path, and centerline.

While in the flare, ^Mr. Goss^ received a right gust of wind that lifted the right wing and he applied more correction for the crosswind. When the main gear touched down, the aircraft veered to the left due to the gust and was pushed off the runway into a snowbank.

The runway also comprised of sand, gravel, and ice patches could have contributed to the accident. Sighting damage to the propeller, propeller hub, wingtip fairings, outboard leading edge of both wings, sudden engine stoppage, and possible damage to the nose landing gear from impact.
