From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed gsn for a 15 minute sightseeing flight. Three miles northeast of the airport the engine lost power. The pilot pumped the trottle and power was restored. The pilot turned the aircraft around to head back to gsn. About 1 mile from the field the engine lost all power. The pilot declared an emergency and was cleared to land runway 25. Winds were out of the north east at 12 knots. The aircraft landed long and touched down with roughly 1000 feet of runway remaining. The aircraft bounced a few times and ran off the runway, hit a ditch and flipped inverted. The pilot and passenger exited the aircraft.
