From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During the airshow performance, the pilot was attempting to perform a stunt that involved landing on a platform on top of a moving truck. During gusty wind conditions, the aircraft right wing tip contacted the side of the metal landing platform, damaging the right wing tip. The pilot discontinued the stunt and ended the performance by landing without further incident. The pilot stated that there was verbal radio miscommunication between him and the driver of the truck. This resulted in the truck decelerating as the airplane accelerated. The right wing tip struck the platform as the pilot was trying to avoid hitting the decelerating truck.
