From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A private pilot and his flight instructor were on a training flight from kral-L35-ksbd-kral. The incident occurred at San Bernardino intl (ksbd) airport where the pilots were practicing touch and go take-offs and landings in the pattern. After take-off, the flight instructor pulled the throttle back to simulate an engine failure and asked the student to land on the remaining runway. Shortly after take off, the student had placed the gear in the up position without the flight instructor observing. This resulted in a gear up landing on runway 6 at ksbd.
