From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot had a hard landing at U14 (Nephi, UT). He stated on final approach just prior to landing, the aircraft dropped, and the aircraft turned and yawed to the left.

The pilot stated he did not get out of the aircraft, but looked out each window and could not see any damage. He stated he felt like the aircraft was running fine. So he took off and flew back to bountiful, UT.

The damage was reported by the school that the aircraft was leased to on April 5, 2018. The damage was to the propeller, buckling in the door, buckling in the skin aft of the firewall, firewall buckling, and the nose strut had collapsed.
