From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot & instructor were accelerating during t/o roll. Pilot was used to a/c that was equipped with a speed interlock on the gear up lever. Lever was moved to up position and gear would not retract until target speed was reached. The incident a/c had been modified by sb to remove the speed interlock providing for direct control input response. When gear lever was selected up pilot detected gear response and moved it back to down position preventing complete gear collapse and prop strike. Damage limited to right wing tip & bent flap support bracket.
