From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On climbout from shd, runway 23, at approx 4000' the aircraft engine lost power. The pilot attempted to regain power without success.

An emergency landing was made in a field approximately .5 miles south of the airport. The aircraft sustained damage to the right and nose landing gear as well as the prop, right flap and aileron. A post accident investigation found the throttle control cable rod end detached from the fuel control. The rod end was reconnected and the engine was run sucessfully.
