From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 4, 2018, N2387R was involved in an incident at Clermont County Airport, OH (I69). The aircraft departed flemingsburg, KY (kfgx) for a flight to Clermont County. During the second attempt, the pilot set the flaps to 20 degrees and used an approach speed of 65 knots. Four to five feet above the runway the pilot reduced the power to idle and started the flare. The aircraft touched down on the centerline, bounced back into the air, and started to drift to the left side of the runway. The aircraft bounced a second time and continued to drift to the left. The aircraft set down on the left side of the runway and went off the edge, striking a runway light with the nose wheel. The aircraft continued into the ditch at the side of the runway where it came to rest.
