From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was enroute from skyview airport (WY05) to kcys airport. Engine lost power during descent for landing

Several attemps to restart failed. Landed approimately 300-500 feet short of rwy 27. Pilot executed a right turn just prior to touch down to avoid vehicle traffic on a busy street. Right wing and right landing gear engaged a barb wire fence which caused the aircraft to spin 180 degrees, sliding approximatly 300 feet before it came to rest parralel to the roadway. Engaging the barb wire and the impact severed the wing just outboard of the landing gear. No injuries. Witnesses reported that the propeller was observed not turning prior to impact. First responders reported no evidence of fuel when they arrived on scene.
