From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 23, 2018, N2231T departed millinocket seaplane base (70B), Maine after fueling with 15 gallons of fuel, to darmariscotta lake, Jefferson, Maine. At approximately 1830 local time, N2231T lost engine power. The pilot in command (PIC) turned the electrically driven fuel pump on and restored some engine power, only momentarily. The engine subsequently stopped producing power. The aircraft touched down in a controlled manner on the swap and decelerated smoothly until a metal stringer that was running between the floats caught on debris in the swamp. The aircraft flipping over, coming to rest on its back. The aircraft sustained minor damage and the PIC and one passenger were able to exit the aircraft with no injuries.
