From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 9, 2018 at 1150 am, west columbia FSDO SO-13, received notification of an accident at airport kcre that involved aircraft registration number N96T. The aircraft was returning to kcre following a local flight with the PIC and two passengers. On landing rollout on runway 05, the aircraft veered left off runway center. The main landing gear collapsed resulting in the propeller striking the runway/ground. The aircraft came to rest on its belly, in a level and upright position on the left side of runway 05, facing approximately 320 degrees. Both the PIC and passengers exited the aircraft, no injuries were reported.

Airworthiness ASI from this office traveled to airport kcre to review aircraft records and damage. Assessment concluded that there was significant damage to the right wing spar and that the structural integrity of the right wing was compromised.

This office also received an eye witness statement on July 24, 2018, (enclosed in report) from another pilot at kcre, that was holding short on runway 05 watching landing traffic, and observing the event.
