What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On July 16, 2016, pilot reported brakes checked fine on run-up and for the first landing. On the next landing, he had the left rudder to the floor trying to apply brakes. Aircraft veered right off the runway into the dirt and ground looped.
The inspecting A&P mechanic reports, the aircraft received no substantial damage; damage is limited to the left wing tip, the left landing gear, and the tail wheel. The inspecting mechanic also reports wing spars are not bend, and there is no structural damage to the main landing gear attachment.
Inspecting A&P mechanic reports finding the bleeder seat and the bleeder screw were missing from the left slave cylinder allowing the escape of the brake fluid.
Pilot/mechanic reported brake fluid at the incident site, another where the aircraft was stopped during its tow, and where it was parked. He also reports the threads for the screw hole were not damaged.
