What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Upon landing runway 9, pilot was unable to reduce engine power so a go-around was initiated. During the downwind approach throttle input was needed to maintain engine RPM. Turning for final the pilot pulled throttle control back to reduce engine RPM. The engine went to low RPM and was unresponsive to throttle inputs. The aircraft did not have enough altitude and the pilot was forced to land in a corn field off the approach end of runway 9.
