From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Upon a normal landing, the pilot touched down on the mains, had a small bounce, then touched down again on the mains. As the pilot begain to lower the tail, a gust of wind caused the airplane to balloon up about 8 feet. The pilot went to about 50% power but did not receive any response from the engine. The pilot then added full power but the engine hesitated. At that time the left wing raised and the right wing struck the ground. The airplane spun around in a right 360 to a stop. The airplane caught on fire and the occupants evacuated.
