From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot took a student out that same morning to the same mountainous area and encountered smooth, calm air. He landed and immediately loaded two passengers to do aerial observation of the same area. Once they arrived in the canyon they encountered some windy conditions with downdrafts. The pilot made a turn towards a ground marker that the passenger requested and felt a downdraft. He immediately banked left to exit the canyon and felt a stronger downdraft. He held vy and heard the stall horn sound. This is all he remembers based on his concussion upon impact with the ground.
