From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated that he performed a low pass/flyover on runway 30 at Sunrise Skypark (ID40).

When he approached the end of runway, he applied power for climb out and the engine immediately quit.

Pilot was unable to restart engine, therefore he executed a forced landing into the snake river approximately 200 yards north of runway.

Aircraft came to rest in about 4 feet of water depth, 50 feet from the west bank of the river, on a gravel bar.

Pilot and passenger were able to safely evacuate the aircraft.
