From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman caught banner in tailwheel during pick up. Airman attempted to release banner back onto sod airstrip but was unsuccessful. Airman then attempted to free banner by reducing power and conducting a steep descent from 1000 feet MSL to 400 feet MSL over sod airstrip. This maneuver was also unsuccessful in releasing the banner from the tailwheel. Upon recovery from power off descent, engine power did not increase with the application of throttle. Airman made emergency landing at edge of field and struck a fence.
