From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 24, 2018 at Oxnard Airport, the pilot of Cirrus SR22 N8787Y started the engine and prepared for a flight. While applying pressure to the toe brakes, the pilot started the engine and set the to idle to 1000 rpms. Preoccupied with checking koxr frequencies and his flight plan on foreflight, the pilot was unaware that the aircraft was slowly creeping forward across the ramp between tie-down rows until making contact with a parked Cessna 310, N509DP. The Cirrus SR22 propeller struck the right side propeller of the Cessna 310, damaging both aircraft.
