From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The accident pilot stated he lost control while taxiing. A witness said the accident pilot carried too much speed into the flare, bounced and drifted off the 20 foot wide runway alighting in a field of tumbleweeds. At that point the aircraft flipped onto its back . Accident scene photos support the witness' version. There are no taxi trails through the tumbleweeds, only an aircraft on its back. Also, the accident pilot reported only minor damage to a wing tip. Photos from the responding deputy and from an A&P mechanic show substantial damage.
