From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On landing rollout on runway 24 at Wings Field, approximately 1000-1500 feet after touchdown, the pilot heard a thump and thought he may have struck a deer or other animal, but thought it may have run off.

After arriving on the aircraft parking ramp, and exiting the aircraft, the pilot looked over the aircraft and noticed some damage to the right main landing gear fairing. He said he did not notice any other damage, but it was dark out.

On 10/24/2018, the aircraft was inspected for any additional damage. Besides the right MLG fairing damage, the right wing had evidence of damage; a surface crack on the top surface approximately 6 inches from the leading edge and approximately 12 to 14 inches long.
