From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was flying an homebuilt acrosport aircraft, which is a bi-wing tailwheeled aircraft. Pilot departed Culpeper on a refresher flight as pilot just purchased aircraft days earlier. Pilot prevously owned this aircraft approximately 10 years earlier. Upon landing pilot did a three wheel landing and then the aircraft started swerving back and forth before ground looping to the right. Left main landing gear folded under fuselage towards the right side. Left wing struck ground which caused wing supports and spars to break. Aircraft sustained substantial damage. No injuries were sustained by the pilot.
