From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a VFR approach to rwy 01R at kict, the landing gear was selected down prior to the base turn. Gear indicated the main gear down and locked, the nose gear with an amber mis-compare and gear disagree n, cas message. Landing gear handle was cycled, with same result. A low approach was accomplished to 01L. Tower confirmed the aircraft configuration of both main gear down and nose wheel in the up position. Crew flew the aircraft to the west practice area and completed all appropriate checklists. The blow down bottle and mechanical up-lock release were ineffective. Contact was made with company engineering, maintenance and safety personnel to work other solutions. A pft chase aircraft joined and completed a visual inspection, confirmed aircraft configuration. Multiple positive and negative g-maneuvers and yawing of the aircraft failed to bring the nose gear down. Two touch and go 'bounces' were accomplished in order to jar the gear loose. Both attempts were ineffective.

Decision was made to land the aircraft with both main gear down and locked and the nose gear in the up position. A VFR straight-in was flown to rwy 01L. Crew evacuated the aircraft through the emergency exit hatch with no injuries.
