From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Shortly after take off during the climb the engine RPM did not exceed 2200 RPM and the aircraft would no longer climb. Pilot started to trouble shoot the problem thinking it might be a fuel delivery issue. While attempting to return to the airport pilot realized he could not make the field and landed in a field just outside the airport. Shortly after landing the aircraft struck a rock causing the right landing gear to collapse. The damage to the underside of the aircraft caused a fire destroying the aircraft. Pilots sustained no injures.
