From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was on a VFR flight from X39 to klal. There was a crosswind on runway 5 and he was practicing crosswind landings. The approach was stabilized and normal until on final just before touchdown he encountered a sudden wind gust, which lifted the upwind left wing. While correcting for the sudden gust, the right wing touched the runway and the aircraft ground loopoed into the grass between the runway and taxiway. There was substantial damage to the aircraft. Left gear collapsed, bent left wing and airframe, also upper engine mounts pulled from the firewall.
